Exploring New Adventures at Teddy Bear this Month!

Scaly Adventures: Little Teddy Bears Explore the World of Reptiles!

Last week, our Little Teddy Bears had an unforgettable adventure when PRODUCATE, presented by Dudzee, brought an Exotic Reptile Show to our school! The kids were captivated by the interactive and informative presentation, and their excitement peaked when they got to hold some of the fascinating creatures. Let’s dive into some fun facts about reptiles that our young learners discovered during the show!

Fun Facts About Reptiles
Cold-Blooded Creatures Reptiles are ectothermic, meaning they rely on external sources of heat to regulate their body temperature. This is why you often see them basking in the sun!

Diverse Species There are over 10,000 species of reptiles around the world, ranging from the tiny dwarf gecko to the massive saltwater crocodile.

Scaly Skin Reptiles are covered in scales, which help protect their bodies and retain moisture. This unique feature sets them apart from mammals and birds.

Shedding Skin As reptiles grow, they shed their old skin in a process called molting. This allows for new, larger skin to replace the old one.

Egg-Laying Most reptiles lay eggs, though some give birth to live young. The eggs are often leathery rather than hard like bird eggs.

Incredible Lifespans Some reptiles can live a very long time. For example, certain species of turtles and tortoises can live over 100 years!

Adaptable Hunters Reptiles have adapted to various environments, from deserts to rainforests. They use a range of hunting techniques, from the stealthy ambush of a snake to the speedy chase of a lizard.

Venomous Reptiles Some reptiles, like certain snakes and lizards, produce venom. This venom can be used to subdue prey or as a defense mechanism against predators.

Highlights from the Show
The Exotic Reptile Show was a hit with our students. Here are some of the memorable moments:

Interactive Learning: The kids learned about the habitats, diets, and behaviors of various reptiles through engaging and hands-on activities.
Live Demonstrations: Dudzee and the team showcased live reptiles, allowing the children to see these creatures up close.
Holding Reptiles: The highlight of the event was when the children had the opportunity to hold lizards and snakes. Their smiles and excitement were priceless!

The visit from PRODUCATE was not only fun but also educational, leaving our Little Teddy Bears and Primary Pals with a deeper appreciation for these amazing creatures. We look forward to more adventures and learning experiences in the future!
